Zhou Li
Zhou Li’s works primarily consist of mixed-media paintings and installations. While pushing the boundaries of materials and forms, she remains committed to an aesthetic framework rooted in natural philosophy and the extension of her artistic vision. Her work combines the free imagination of Romanticism with the elegance and vigor of classical Chinese landscape painting; as she explores the frontiers of contemporary aesthetics, she demonstrates a profound humanistic concern. The lively, subtle details that appear effortlessly in her work stem from this very approach.
She graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA) in China in 1991. From 1995 to 2003, she lived and worked in France. Since 2012, she has served as a visiting professor at the GAFA. Since 2019, she has served as a member of the Academic Committee at the Pingshan Art Museum.
